The display has been designed to ensure excellent legibility of the various functions. The dial is covered with a new, matte white lacquer that reduces reflections and features the applied indexes found on Professional category watches. A flange, dedicated to the countdown function, is positioned on the dial with extreme precision, a characteristic that led to a patent application. It is graduated from 10 to 0 minutes, and half-minutes are indicated by triangles.
The Rolex Yacht-Master II
Mastering the regatta countdown
Rolex presents the new generation Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II. Available in Oystersteel or 18 ct yellow gold, the new version of this unique regatta chronograph in the world features a completely revised design and movement.
The display of the various functions and the manipulation of the countdown have been rethought to make reading the indications even more comfortable and simplify the use of the timepiece. The dial's rehaut houses the countdown scale, while the programming and use of the function are done exclusively using the two side pushers. The nautical character of the watch and its belonging to the Yacht-Master range stand out thanks to numerous carefully designed aesthetic details. The new Yacht-Master II is a remarkable timepiece, just as the original model was at its launch.

Optimal legibility
Cerachrom bezel disc
A concentration of high technology
The Yacht-Master II, available in Oystersteel or 18 ct yellow gold, features a bidirectional rotatable bezel with a 60-minute graduated Cerachrom insert in blue ceramic. The high-tech ceramic manufacturing process used by Rolex, which results in a particularly hard and virtually scratch-proof material, requires the use of specialized tools. Its colors remain unaffected by ultraviolet rays and, due to the nature of its chemical composition, it is inert and corrosion-proof.
On this blue Cerachrom insert, the recessed graduations and numerals are colored by depositing platinum or yellow gold using a PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) technique. The first half-hour of the graduation is detailed minute by minute. With the bezel in the neutral position, the last 30 seconds of the countdown, indicated by the central chronograph seconds hand, can be read more clearly. The graduated bezel, whose knurled edge provides excellent grip, also allows the wearer to measure durations, such as the travel time between two buoys.
Oyster bracelet
Iconic and robust
The Yacht-Master II is fitted with an Oyster bracelet. Developed in the late 1930s, this three-piece link metal bracelet is characterized by its robustness. The Oyster bracelet on the Yacht-Master II in Oystersteel or 18 ct yellow gold features a slimmer Oysterlock safety clasp. This folding clasp, which prevents accidental opening, includes the Easylink rapid extension system, developed by Rolex, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5 mm. On the 18 ct yellow gold version, the Oyster bracelet incorporates ceramic inserts within its links, designed and patented by Rolex, which enhance its fluidity on the wrist and its durability over time.
Calibre 4162
An innovative movement
Introduced in 2026 and exclusive to the Yacht-Master II, calibre 4162 is a chronograph movement with a countdown function entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. The new-generation Yacht-Master II houses calibre 4162, an evolution of calibre 4161 that equipped its predecessor. This self-winding mechanical movement ensures high performance, particularly in terms of precision, power reserve, convenience and reliability.
The countdown function is triggered by a robust mechanism with a column wheel and vertical clutch, allowing for instantaneous and extremely precise activation. Calibre 4162 also incorporates some of Rolex's key innovations for its movements, including the Chronergy escapement. Thanks to the barrel architecture and the superior efficiency of its escapement, it boasts a power reserve of approximately 72 hours. Calibre 4162 exhibits refined aesthetics, particularly in the bridges decorated with Rolex Côtes de Genève, and a skeletonized oscillating weight.
Certification
Superlative Chronometer
Like all Rolex watches, the Oyster Perpetual Yacht-Master II is certified as a Superlative Chronometer. This exclusive designation attests to the timepiece’s outstanding performance on the wrist. This internal certification is rigorously controlled by independent and internationally recognized Swiss bodies.
As of 2026, the Superlative Chronometer certification is complemented by three new evaluation criteria: resistance to magnetic fields, reliability, and longevity, monitored throughout all phases of design and production for each individual watch. These involve hundreds of controls and validations that directly contribute to the timepiece’s performance. The new criteria are added to those established during the certification’s redefinition in 2015, namely precision, waterproofness, self-winding, and power reserve. It was in that year that Rolex developed an exclusive protocol of tests for the finished watch, conducted within the manufacture on fully automated systems. Evaluated after the movement is cased, the precision criteria are particularly stringent. The precision must fall within a tolerance of –2 and +2 seconds per day. The rate variation tolerated by the Brand for a finished watch is far smaller than that permitted for the official certification of the movement alone.
The Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that accompanies every Rolex watch, along with a five-year international guarantee.
